General Questions
What is BriteWiki?
BriteWiki is a collaborative workspace platform that combines project management, task tracking, and document collaboration in one place. It's perfect for teams who need to plan, execute, and document their work together.
Is BriteWiki free?
BriteWiki offers a free tier with core features. Check our pricing page for information about premium plans with advanced features.
How many workspaces can I create?
You can create unlimited workspaces on any plan. Each workspace is completely separate with its own members, projects, and documents.
Can I use BriteWiki offline?
Currently, BriteWiki requires an internet connection to work. Offline mode is planned for future releases.
Workspaces & Members
How do I invite team members?
Go to your workspace, click the invite button, and share the invite link or send email invitations. See the Workspaces guide for details.
Can I remove a member from my workspace?
Yes, if you're the Owner or an Admin. Go to Workspace Settings → Members, find the member, and click the remove button.
What's the difference between Owner, Admin, and Member?
Each role has different permissions. Check the Roles & Permissions guide for a complete breakdown.
Can I transfer workspace ownership?
Workspace ownership transfer is coming in a future update. Currently, only the creator can be the Owner.
Projects & Tasks
How do I create a project?
Owners and Admins can create projects. Click New Project in your workspace, enter a name and image, and click Create. See the Projects & Tasks guide.
Can I move a task to a different project?
This feature is not available yet but is planned for a future release.
How do @mentions work?
Type @ followed by a team member's name in task comments or descriptions. They'll receive a notification and can see where they were mentioned.
Can I attach files to tasks?
Yes! Use the attachment button in the task detail view to upload files (images, PDFs, documents, etc.).
Documents
Do documents auto-save?
Yes! BriteWiki auto-saves your documents as you type. You can also click the Save button to manually save at any time.
Can I add images to documents?
Yes! Use the /image command in the editor or drag and drop images directly. See the Documents guide.
Can multiple people edit the same document?
Real-time collaboration is planned for a future release. Currently, one person should edit at a time to avoid conflicts.
Can I export documents?
Document export (PDF, Markdown, etc.) is coming in a future update.
Security & Privacy
Is my data secure?
Yes. BriteWiki uses industry-standard encryption, secure authentication, and follows best practices for data protection.
Who can see my workspace data?
Only workspace members can see your data. Each workspace is completely private and isolated from others.
Can I enable two-factor authentication?
Two-factor authentication (2FA) is coming soon to add an extra layer of security to your account.
Troubleshooting
I can't log in. What should I do?
- Check your email and password are correct
- Try resetting your password using "Forgot Password"
- Clear your browser cache and cookies
- Try a different browser
My documents aren't loading.
- Check your internet connection
- Refresh the page (F5 or Cmd+R)
- Clear browser cache
- Try a different browser
I'm not receiving notifications.
- Check your notification settings in User Settings → Notifications
- Make sure you haven't muted notifications in your browser
- Check your email spam folder for notification emails
The app is slow or unresponsive.
- Close unused browser tabs
- Restart your browser
- Clear browser cache
- Check your internet speed
